| | I payed somebody out of the paper to set up my computer for me about 6 months ago, all things were running great till it started getting problems and i had to format. Now that most things are up and running again i still have no sound, it tells me New hardware Found every time the computer starts up, but when i go to install the hardware, it wants software... and the guy that set up didn't leave me anything except my windows xp prof disk, what should i do? (i'm running Windows Xp Prof) Thanx |
| | | Well try to get a hold of the guy 1st.. If you can't then open the case up, and look inside, if your soundcard is a seperate card, get the name off it, and goto the manufacturers site and get the drivers, if it is built on the motherboard, look on the board, and see what brand it is, and goto the manufacturers site and get the drivers..
If you don't know what you are doing, then get someone that does, so you don't mess anything up.. |
| | | well, yeah, i have this problem too..
it asks me for Multimedia Audio Controller all of the sudden once i inserted this C-Media audiocard, so i got the drivers, installed it and it still asks for multimedia audio controller!
so then i pull out the new audio card so i use my internet AC'97 VIA one, and it still asks for the same freakin thing o.o
any solutions? |
| | | Solution: RAM IN THE SOUNDCARD!
And seriously, i mean RAM it in, push it will all your power >.<
since that fixed the problem for me >.>
Now i changed from output type and i am getting the same error AGAIN! >.<
Just because the soundcard moved a little bit :( |
| | | | go to driver .com and download the drivers you need for your sound. what type of sound do you have is it on board or a pci card if its ac;97 |
| | | problem solved, you only have to jam it in there -_-
it works |

| Hey there. I gotta question about that damn multimedia audio controller!
I'm running XP home ed. on a dell made desktop, and like everyone else, suddenly, without provication, my syst. has started asking me for the software drivers for this, previously normal functioning audio controller??? I've tried searching for the appropriate driver on the disks I have but cannot find it anywhere, so can anyone please tell what the driver I'm looking for is called and where I might find it on the disks i already have. I'm sure if I perform a re-install of my system it would be o.k. at least for a while, but hey thats no fix is it, plus I've far to much stuff on my 'puter and no time to back it all up.... please in the name of ..... someone tell me how to fix this!. much appreciated |

| reinstalling your OS will NOT fix this problem, it WON'T cause i've tried... and now i finally got the card working for the fifth time again (thank you!) and when i play music my computer crashes (GODAMNIT >.<)
So i guess you need to buy a soundcard if you have a internal one, or replace your current out-of-date-since-beginning-of-PC's with a more "recent" one :) |

| | Hi people! Could somebody help me pls??? I think I unistalled by mistake the Multimedia audio controller. Can somebody tell me where can i download or something. maybe it can be found on any of the window xp cds or something or do i have to take the pc to a professional? |
| | | you don't have to take it to a professional and there ARE no drives for it since MultiMedia Hardware Controller is an annoying this by a company called Microsoft wich askes every startup for the drivers while there ARN'T any...
All i can recommend is: JAM the card in the box and install the drivers for that specific soundcard if they arn't included with windows XP |
